कांग्रेस नेता महर्षि ने मेयर टिकट के लिए दी अपनी अर्जी
देहरादून। उत्तराखंड में निकाय चुनाव की तारीख का ऐलान होने के साथ ही राजनीतिक सरगर्मियां तेज हो गई हैं। प्रदेश के कुल 11 नगर निगमों में देहरादून नगर निगम उत्तराखंड का सबसे बड़ा नगर निगम है। देहरादून नगर निगम में 100 वार्ड हैं। यहां मेयर, डिप्टी मेयर और 99 पार्षद होते हैं। प्रदेश की राजधानी का शहर होने के कारण देहरादून नगर निगम का वैसे भी राजनीति में सर्वाधिक महत्व है। सत्तारूढ़ भाजपा को यहां मुख्य विपक्षी कांग्रेस से यहां इस बार टक्कर मिल सकती है।
नामांकन दाखिल किए जाने से पूर्व देहरादून नगर निगम में कांग्रेस और भाजपा दोनों के लिए प्रत्याशी चयन की कसरत निसंदेह बेहद चुनौती भरी है। कांग्रेस में जितने भी मेयर पद के दावेदारों के नाम सामने आ रहे हैं, सबकी अपनी पृष्ठभूमि है। इनमें एक नाम उभरा है राजीव महर्षि जिन्होने मेयर पद के लिये कांग्रेस कार्यालय में आवेदन किया। देहरादून की ही मिट्टी में जन्मे, उच्च शिक्षित और विजनरी नेता के रूप में महर्षि की पहचान है। वे मीडिया में पार्टी का पक्ष पूरी तैयारी और गंभीरता से रखते आए हैं I
